“Pick the World Champion 2026” is a two-screen interactive experience developed for museum visitors to participate in a live prediction poll for the upcoming Football World Cup.
Visitors could select their favorite national team by tapping a flag icon on a touchscreen interface. Votes were collected and displayed in real time on a second screen, alongside a video featuring expert predictions about the championship.
This was a collaborative team project developed together with Niko Saarikoski and Noora Valkeemäki.
All team members contributed to both the visual design and the coding implementation.
The project was developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Node.js. HTML and CSS were used to create the visual identity and touchscreen layouts, while JavaScript and Node.js enabled the interactive voting system and real-time synchronization between the voting and results screens.
One of the most interesting aspects of this project was working under a short deadline while following a specific exhibition briefing. The experience strengthened our collaboration, communication and rapid problem-solving skills as a team, while also teaching me how to design and develop interactive experiences in a fast-paced environment.
Through this project, I deepened my understanding of touchscreen UX and real-time interface updates within exhibition spaces, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.
Thanks for watching!
